VIDEO: Sammy Hagar and the Circle Cover the Who’s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ While Separated During Quarantine

2019 Stern Show guests release the track as part of their so-called “Lockdown Sessions”

Sammy Hagar & the Circle’s upcoming summer tour may be in limbo because of the coronavirus pandemic, but the band hasn’t stopped making music.

Hagar and his band mates Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, and Vic Johnson recently dropped a compact cover of the Who’s seminal rock anthem “Won‘t Get Fooled Again” with each rocker recording their respective part while sheltering at home.

“Another week in lockdown for COVID-19 and Sammy & the Circle still need to get their jam on,” Hagar wrote in a caption accompanying the video. “Stay Healthy. Stay Home. Stay Tuned.”

“Won‘t Get Fooled Again” serves as the second release from the band’s so-called “Lockdown Sessions,” following “Funky Feng Shui.”

When Sammy Hagar & the Circle visited the Stern Show last April they didn’t cover any other iconic rock songs, but the boys did cover a variety of subjects in their conversation with Howard. They spoke at length about Hagar and Anthony’s days in Van Halen, the possibility of that band reuniting, and Bonham’s late father John Bonham, who was one of the most iconic drummers of all time.

Hagar and company also revved up listeners with a high-octane rendition of “Finish What Ya Started.” Take a listen (below).
