Mystery runs in the family in the new trailer for the Netflix film “Enola Holmes,” arriving in September.

Emmy-nominated “Stranger Things” actress Millie Bobby Brown stars as Enola Holmes, the spunky younger sister of Mycroft (Sam Claflin) and super-sleuth Sherlock (Henry Cavill). While the 16-year-old seems every bit as clever as her famed older brothers, she’s more than a little unpolished.

“Unlike most well-bred ladies, I was never taught to embroider,” her character announces at one point (above). “I was taught to watch and listen. I was taught to fight.”

The film’s big mystery begins on Enola’s birthday when her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) goes missing, leaving behind only a series of enigmatic gifts. Enter her older brothers Mycroft and Sherlock who, as her newly appointed guardians, send Enola off to finishing school. She quickly escapes, of course, and follows a trail of clues to London where she hopes to ultimately find out what happened to her mother.

Directed by Harry Bradbeer (“Fleabag”) and adapted from the Nancy Springer’s popular book series, “Enola Holmes” co-stars Louis Partridge, Adeel Akhtar, Fiona Shaw, and Frances de la Tour.

“Enola Holmes” debuts Sept. 23 on Netflix.
