Arsenio Hall, Tracy Morgan, Wesley Snipes, and Leslie Jones co-star in the long-awaited comedy sequel

Eddie Murphy stars as an African king scouring Queens for his long lost son in the latest trailer for “Coming 2 America,” arriving in March.

Debuting during Sunday night’s Super Bowl, the new clip follows King Akeem (Murphy) and his faithful servant Semmi (Arsenio Hall) as they return to New York City. Whereas the first film saw Eddie’s character cross the Atlantic to find true love as a crown prince, the sequel sees him returning stateside in search of his royal heir after he’s already ascended to the throne.

“I am King Akeem Joffer and I believe you are the heir to the throne of Zamunda. Yes, my son!” Eddie gleefully says (above).

Directed by Craig Brewer (“Hustle & Flow”), “Coming 2 America” features returning cast members John Amos, James Earl Jones, Shari Headley, and Eriq La Salle as well as franchise newcomers Wesley Snipes, Jermaine Fowler, Tracy Morgan, and Leslie Jones.

In recent visits to the Stern Show, both Morgan and Jones spoke highly of working alongside Eddie in the eagerly anticipated project. “I always wanted to work with one of my idols and comedic heroes, and I got an opportunity to work with him,” Tracy told Howard last April.

“When Eddie Murphy walked on set dressed as Akeem everybody got chills,” Jones said in her 2020 interview “Everybody on set said the same thing, like, ‘Oh, this is going to be big.’” Watch a clip from Leslie’s sit-down with Howard (below).

“Coming 2 America” debuts March 5 on Amazon Prime Video.
