VIDEO: Lady Gaga Freshens Up a Fashion Empire and Plots a Murder in Glamorous New 'House of Gucci' Trailer

Lady Gaga’s on-screen ex pays a big price for bad romance in the new trailer for Ridley Scott’s forthcoming fashion drama “House of Gucci.”

Based on Sarah Gay Forden’s true crime book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed,” the ‘90s-set film follows socialite turned convicted felon Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga) as she hires a hitman to kill her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), an heir to the Gucci empire.

“They had it all: Wealth, style, power. Who wouldn’t kill for that?” Gaga’s character says (above) before suggesting the fashion house lost its edge and needed new leadership. “It’s time to take out the trash,” she adds.

“House of Gucci” co-stars Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek, Reeve Carney, and Jack Huston in addition to Stern Show veterans Driver and Gaga. Though the real-life Gaga has never tried to bring down Gucci, she has made headlines in years past for her unconventional (if not brave) fashion choices, whether she’s wearing a meat dress to an award show or gluing on underwear on during a “Saturday Night Live” performance.
