Karen Gillan, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Pedro Pascal, and Leslie Mann co-star in the April 1 Netflix film

The cast and crew of a mindless monster sequel struggle to shoot their movie during quarantine in Judd Apatow’s upcoming Netflix comedy “The Bubble.”

Karen Gillan, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Pedro Pascal, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Mann star in the film alongside Stern Show veteran Fred Armisen, who plays the filmmaker tasked with making “Cliff Beasts 6,” an action flick about flying dinosaurs, while the cast and crew are quarantined together in a hotel during a global pandemic.

“This movie is going to make the world forget about all their problems. What we’re doing is edgy. It’s real.”

“Krystal just did a fucking Tik Tok with a dinosaur,” Gillan’s actress character responds.

Directed, produced, and co-written by Apatow, “The Bubble” serves as the longtime funnyman’s first film since the 2020 dramedy “The King of Staten Island,” starring Pete Davidson. As listeners might remember, Judd sat down with Howard in 2015 and opened up about the real-life struggles of getting a movie made, revealing he and recent Stern Show guest Ben Stiller actually once tried pitching the Rolling Stones on a movie—but it wasn’t meant to be. Check out a clip from the conversation (below).

“The Bubble” premieres April 1 on Netflix.
