Past Stern Show guest and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Miller’s landmark album, “The Joker,” is about to turn 50. To celebrate, Miller dropped by Howard’s studio to play just some of his many notable songs — with a twist.
“He’s just sitting there with a 12-string [guitar] and doing some of his big hits that you hear on the radio all the time, but it’s very cool because he’s just doing them acoustically,” Howard said of the performances, which will air exclusively on Friday, Sept. 15 on Howard 101. “He’s 79 years old and he sounds great … I love the way he does these songs.”
Executive producer Gary Dell’Abate was equally blown away. “It’s just so amazing that he gets that sound out of the 12-string and his voice is great,” he observed.
Steve Miller’s acoustic special airs Friday at 7 and 10 p.m. ET exclusively on Howard 101.
