No Howard for the Canucks

November 17, 2005

Howard read a report that SIRIUS Canada has decided not to air his show on their service for now.

According to the article, Howard started broadcasting in Toronto and Montreal in the 1990s, but was quickly taken off after derogatory comments he made about the French drew 1,000 complaints to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, which is the Canadian equivalent to the FCC.

Howard pointed out that he must be more important than he thought, seeing as the story goes on to say that the Canadian government has actually spent time debating whether or not his program should air.

Howard also mentioned that he doesn’t understand the motives behind the decision, mentioning that Canada has liberal laws when it comes to strip clubs and the kind of pornography shown in hotel rooms.
