Brent Hatley’s Wife Busts an Alleged Sandwich Thief at Starbucks

Brent Hatley’s desire to make a citizen’s arrest is well-documented, but he never seems to be in the right place at the right time to put his skills to the test. The same can’t be said for Mrs. Hatley, though, as Brent revealed Wednesday morning.

“My wife actually just stopped a robbery at Starbucks,” he told Howard.

Last week, when she went in to get a coffee, Brent’s better half witnessed a man stuffing sandwiches into his pants and confronted him.

“She was like, ‘Sir, stop right there,’” Brent narrated.

While the man reportedly played dumb, Brent’s wife stood her ground. “I saw you steal those sandwiches,” she told him. Spooked, the alleged thief threw his stolen goods on the ground and ran off.

The Starbucks staff was amazed by her courage. “That was so brave,’” they told her, explaining the company charges stolen items back to them.

Howard wondered if the Stern Show staffer was a little jealous of missing the action and he offered a resounding “yes.”

As for his wife, she simply continued with her day. “She paid for her coffee and left,” Brent said.
