He also tells Howard about his co-worker’s difficult behavior during one of last week’s segments
Benjy Bronk memorably gave his colleagues Richard Christy and Sal Governale two fists worth of on-air fun last Wednesday, but his last-minute requests for everything from hand lotion to a new microphone apparently resulted in some frustration behind the scenes for Stern Show executive producer Gary Dell’Abate.
On Monday, Howard learned Benjy’s strange behavior has caused some off-air drama, too, after Gary revealed he had recently given Benjy a ride to Long Island and very nearly received a backseat full of vomit for his troubles.
“I’m on the Cross Island Parkway and I look in my rearview mirror and I hear this very tiny little noise … Benjy’s pulling his face as far apart as he can” Gary told Howard, explaining his co-worker was on the verge of becoming carsick. “He had a very difficult ride,” Gary added.
“I would’ve put him in the trunk,” Howard joked. “Like in ‘The Sopranos.’”
“I would have dropped him at the side of the road: ‘Now you’re not car sick,’” Robin added with a laugh.
