New performance is part of an exclusive series of classic ‘90s bands tackling iconic ‘90s songs
Rock band Sponge is kicking off a new Stern Show music series showcasing music acts from the ’90s covering some classic song from the ’90s. Check out the video (above) of Sponge’s rendition of the Stone Temple Pilots hit “Vaseline.”
“We have kind of an interesting thing happening,” Howard said Tuesday. “We have bands come up, especially … bands that became popular in the ‘90s because you [Robin] and I love the ‘90s.”
“Great period for music,” Robin agreed.
“We always say to the guys whenever they come up and record stuff for our app, do you have any cover songs you’d like to do?” Howard explained.
