Rock legend Peter Frampton wasn’t the only special guest who graced the studio with his presence Wednesday morning. Howard also welcomed in new puppets modeled after Stern Show staffers JD Harmeyer and Ronnie “the Limo Driver” Mund.

“The show is going all puppet,” Robin laughed after hearing the news.

“Yeah, we’re going all puppet; we won’t even have to show up at some point,” Howard responded before unveiling them.

Though he plans to put them to greater use next week, Howard gave the two puppets a “little tryout” on Wednesday, manning the JD puppet himself and handing over the Ronnie puppet to Fred Norris, so they could reenact a back-office squabble the two staffers apparently had earlier.

“Oh, that’s hysterical … I love it,” Robin said after seeing the Ronnie puppet, remarking that his two-toned hair looks just like the real-life limo driver’s.

“I think the puppet is taller,” Fred joked.
