How do you replace someone as irreplaceable as Ronnie “the Limo Driver” Mund? It’s a task Howard might soon have to endure if his longtime driver sticks to his plan and retires in 2021. That’s when Ronnie said he and his fiancée Stephanie intend to relocate to Las Vegas and open up their own animal hospital, a goal he’s shared on the air previously. On Tuesday, he maintained he’s ready for something new after 34 years on the Stern Show.

“Isn’t there a time that you just want to lay back and not have to work?” Ronnie asked Howard. “I enjoy it, I love it here. You know that.”

Robin wasn’t so sure Ronnie could part ways with the show that easily, though. “If we’re still here and you’re not, you’ll hate it,” she told him.

Even if Ronnie moves west and Howard decides to retire too, his puppet persona isn’t going anywhere. Fred Norris joked he’d probably perform live for New Yorkers on their way to and from work.

“I’m gonna go in the subway with my Ronnie puppet,” Fred said with a laugh.

As for Robin, Howard predicted her next career move would be becoming a self-help guru, guiding her many fans on how to live their best lives. He even talked to “Future Robin” on the phone and got some spiritual advice. Check out the audio (below).
