VIDEO: Benjy Bronk Says He’s Unable to Sit Up After Leg Surgery

Stern Show staffer Benjy Bronk made his on-air return Monday since having leg surgery and his explanation of the recovery resulted in more questions than answers. “He looked like he was in a mining disaster because he’s on his back,” executive producer Gary Dell’Abate told Howard of what Benjy looked like on his webcam earlier that weekend. “I said, ‘Benjy can you sit up’ and he goes, ‘I’ll have to figure it out.’ I’m like, ‘You don’t know if you can sit up or not?’”

“He injured his leg, why can’t he sit up on a couch?” Howard asked.

“It was on his leg and we’re not asking him to walk, we’re just asking him to sit up,” Robin agreed.

Joining the Stern Show livestream, Benjy did a have a response to the question. “The surgeon says it’s dangerous to sit up all the way at this point,” he told Howard.

Despite Howard and Robin not believing the staffer, Jimmy Kimmel had a more positive take. “Hey, that’s the first time he’s actually answered a question though so that’s good,” the late-night host noted.
