When Jason Kaplan admitted he attended two Phish concerts at Madison Square Garden recently, Howard was concerned the longtime Stern Show staffer might have contracted COVID-19. It turns out he was right. “I took an in-home test and then I went to a doctor … the results are I do indeed have COVID, and I’m really upset about it,” Jason revealed Wednesday morning. “I’ve got no one to blame but myself for this … In my head, I did that stupid move where [I said] ‘Fuck it, I’m going to go have a fun weekend,’ but I regret it now.”

Jason, who has mild symptoms and hopes to serve as a reminder that COVID-19 is still contractable, also admitted he had a great time. “They were great shows,” he remarked. “Nothing is worth getting COVID for but the Phish shows were amazing, and I had an absolute blast. Live music is the number one thing I missed most with this whole COVID shit.”

When co-host Robin Quivers critiqued Jason for not wearing a mask during the sold-out concerts, the staffer didn’t offer up any excuses. “I was stupid, there’s no other way to say it,” he resigned.
