Howard and Robin Quivers Explain How to Text Like a Young Person
“Well, I’m not texting any of them because I don’t put that much thought into a text,” Robin jokes of some of Gen Z’s texting habits
If you’re afraid your texting style is showing your age, Howard and Robin Quivers have some advice for you. On Wednesday, the duo discussed the differences in texting etiquette between older and younger generations — starting with the fact that leaving the read texts option on is a trend for the elderly. “I must be texting like a young person,” Howard remarked. “I don’t want people knowing that I read their texts … I don’t have time to get right back to them and they’re sitting there going, ‘Well, he read it.’”
For younger generations, run-on sentences are in fashion while punctuation marks are out, something Robin takes issue with. “I love grammar!” she noted.
“You don’t look old, but you’re old,” Howard jokingly explained before complimenting his longtime co-host. “You really do have a youthful look … you’re dressed like a sexy ranch hand.”
When Howard revealed that Gen Z tends to interpret shorter texts or the inclusion of periods as a sign of anger, Robin again took issue. “Well, I’m not texting any of them because I don’t put that much thought into a text,” she said with a laugh.
