Check Out the First Trailer for Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

The superhero film, starring Chadwick Boseman, opens Feb. 16, 2018

Marvel Studios dropped the first “Black Panther” poster on Friday, just hours before releasing the upcoming film’s first official trailer during Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

It’s the first solo outing for Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, who made his debut last year in “Captain America: Civil War,” co-starring Chris Evans and frequent Stern Show guest Robert Downey Jr. Though the poster (below) is simple—depicting Black Panther sitting, sans mask, on a throne—it represents the duality of a character who is T’Challa, the King of Wakanda, by day and an Adamantium-clawed superhero by night.

“You are a good man with a good heart, and it’s hard for a good man to be a king,” explains an ominous voice in the trailer.

Michael B. Jordan (“Fantastic Four”), Lupita Nyong’o (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”), Danai Gurira (“The Walking Dead”), Andy Serkis (“Avengers: Age of Ultron”), Daniel Kaluuya (“Get Out”), Martin Freeman, Forest Whitaker, and Angela Bassett co-star in the 2018 film, with Ryan Coogler (“Creed”) directing.

Check out the full poster (below). Check out the official teaser trailer (above).

“Black Panther” hits theaters Feb. 16, 2018.
