20th Century Fox released the first trailer for “The Greatest Showman,” a musical biopic about down-on-his-luck dreamer P.T. Barnum, aka the man who eventually paved the way for the renowned Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Actor, stage performer, and former Stern Show guest Hugh Jackman plays the legendary entertainer who loses his day job at the start of the trailer and has founded “show business” by its end. Along the way he recruits for his show a spectacular array of uniquely talented performers and turns them into sensations.

“Every one of us is special,” Jackman says in the trailer. “And nobody is like anyone else. That’s the point of my show.”

Directed by Michael Gracey, the film also stars Michelle Williams as Charity Barnum, Zac Efron as Barnum’s sidekick, Zendaya as the trapeze artist Efron falls for, and Rebecca Ferguson as Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind.

“The Greatest Showman” hits theaters Dec. 25.
