VIDEO: Jennifer Lawrence Has Uninvited Guests in Creepy ‘Mother!’ Trailer

Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Kristen Wiig, and Michelle Pfeiffer co-star in Darren Aronofsky's next thriller, opening Sept. 15

Jennifer Lawrence has braved intergalactic space travel in “Passengers” and battled children to the death on TV in “The Hunger Games,” but her latest film has her dealing with potentially deadly drama inside her very own home.

Paramount Pictures just dropped the official trailer for “Mother!,” a new film written and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker and past Stern Show caller Darren Aronofsky (“Black Swan,” “The Wrestler”).

“Mother!” focuses on a couple whose idyllic home is disrupted by uninvited guests, according to the official description, but the official trailer (above) only hints at the plot as the camera follows around a spellbound Lawrence to the backdrop of a menacing score.

Aronofsky called into the Stern Show back in 2008 to discuss his acclaimed film “The Wrestler,” which eventually resulted in Oscar-nominations for stars Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei. During his conversation with Howard, the director spoke both about working with Rourke and his early days at a filmmaker. “I didn’t touch a camera until I was in college,” he told Howard.

Mila Kunis, another one of Aronofsky’s former stars, joined the Stern Show in 2016 and opened up about working with him on “Black Swan,” which was nominated for a handful of Oscars and resulted in a Best Actress win for costar Natalie Portman. Listen to Mila’s conversation with Howard about the film, its steamy girl-on-girl love scene, and Darren’s directing style (below).

“Mother!,” co-starring Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kristen Wiig, and Ed Harris, opens Sept. 15.
