VIDEO: Doctor Strange Gets Extended Screen Time in New ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ International Trailer

Marvel's upcoming superhero film hammers into theaters Nov. 3

Marvel Studios just dropped a new international trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok,” its third standalone superhero film starring Chris Hemsworth as the comic book-inspired crime-fighting deity.

Published via Marvel’s Japanese social media accounts, the trailer (above) shows extended footage of Thor interacting with a newfound ally in sorcerer Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). “Thor, I sense a great change in your future,” Strange tells as the trailer begins. “Destiny has dire plans for you, my friend.”

“I have dire plans for destiny,” Thor responds.

Judging by the rest of the action-packed footage, Thor’s plans likely don’t include dinner and a movie. As in previous trailers, we see several different massive scrums, from Thor fighting the death goddess Hela (Cate Blanchett) to the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) fighting a giant wolf. There’s even a glimpse of Thor and his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) fighting side by side.

Perhaps the melee madness helps explain why the Japanese version of the film even has a completely different title: “Thor: Battle Royale.”

“Thor: Ragnarok” hammers its way into U.S. theaters on Nov. 3. Watch the latest international trailer (above).
