VIDEO: Gerard Butler, 50 Cent Play Cops and Robbers in Action-Packed ‘Den of Thieves’ Trailer

Stern Show veterans' L.A.-set heist flick hits theaters in January

October 26, 2017

Gerard Butler plays a hard-boiled cop determined to hinder the ultimate heist in the official trailer for “Den of Thieves,” a Los Angeles-set crime-drama hitting theaters early next year.

Described as being in the vein of the Robert De Niro-Al Pacino classic “Heat,” the film follows Butler and his elite law enforcement detail who are hell-bent on busting up the baddest bank-robbery rings in the business.

But they may have met their match in a cold-blooded crew of killers—run by fellow Stern Show veteran Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson—looking to loot the Federal Reserve. “Anybody moves, you shoot. You understand?” instructs 50 Cent’s character at one point in the trailer (above).

It’s an intense role for rapper, actor, and entrepreneur 50 Cent, who has joined the Stern Show several times over the years and even discussed his acting process with Howard, revealing back in 2009 that he is able to cry on command by revisiting the painful memories of his youth.

“Den of Thieves,” directed by Christian Gudegast and co-starring Pablo Schreiber (“The Wire”), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (“Straight Outta Compton”), and Evan Jones (“8 Mile”), opens Jan. 19. Check out the official trailer (above).
