Rami Malek steps into the spotlight and commands the stage as renowned Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the first trailer for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the eagerly anticipated biopic about one of the most prolific rock and roll bands of all time.

Released Tuesday by 20th Century Fox, the debut clip (above) teases the group’s meteoric rise to the top and chronicles the life of its legendary lead singer, who defied stereotypes, shattered convention, and penned some of the ‘70s and ‘80s most commercially and critically beloved hits—several of which are featured prominently in the trailer.

Directed by Bryan Singer (“X-Men: Apocalypse”) and Dexter Fletcher (“Eddie the Eagle”), “Bohemian Rhapsody” co-stars Ben Hardy, Gwilym Lee, and Joseph Mazzello as Mercury’s bandmates Roger Taylor, Brian May, and John Deacon, respectively. It also features “Game of Thrones” star Aidan Gillen as manager John Reid, Lucy Boynton as Mercury’s muse Mary Austin, and “Wayne’s World’s” Mike Myers in a role that hasn’t yet been revealed.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” rocks theaters Nov. 2. Watch the teaser trailer (above).
