Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds tries bringing together the Mormon Church and its members of the LGBTQ community in the upcoming HBO documentary “Believer.”

Released Wednesday, the film’s trailer (above) follows the Grammy-winning Stern Show guest as he attempts to reconcile his faith and his religion’s treatment of its members of the LGBTQ community, many of whom are huge Imagine Dragons fans. He tries bridging the gap by putting together the Love Loud Festival, a concert event he describes as “a safe space for everybody to feel the love and acceptance together for LGBTQ.”

“I’m not just going to walk away and let this house on fire burn,” Dan says toward the end of the trailer (above).

Imagine Dragons made its Stern Show debut in 2015, performing two songs and sitting down for a wide-ranging interview with Howard. Dan opened up about his relationship with the Mormon Church, revealing his religion sometimes leaves him conflicted. Take a listen (below).

The second annual Loud Love Festival, featuring acts like Zedd, Mike Shinoda, Grace VanderWaal, and of course Imagine Dragons, takes place July 28 in Salt Lake City with proceeds being spread among various LGBTQ charities. “Believer” debuts in 2018 on HBO. Watch the trailer (above).
