Peter Parker is just one of several web-slinging superheroes in Sony’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” opening in December.

In the latest trailer for Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s (“The Lego Movie,” “21 Jump Street”) animated film (above), Parker (Jake Johnson) traverses dimensions to encounter (and eventually team up with) several additional iterations of Marvel’s Spider-Man, including Gwen Stacy (“Bumblebee” star Hailee Steinfeld), Peni Parker (“Orange Is the New Black’s” Kimiko Glenn), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), the Brian Michael Bendis-created character Miles Morales (Shameik Moore). The team even has its own talking pig in Spider-Ham (Stern Show celebrity superfan John Mulaney).

Together, the similarly powered superheroes must take down a cadre of classic Spidey villains, including Green Goblin, the Scorpion, and the Kingpin (Liev Schreiber), and try not to freak out too many innocent bystanders in the process.

“Do animals talk in this dimension?” Mulaney’s Spider-Ham asks (above) after being discovered by a civilian. “Because I don’t want to freak him out.”

“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” also starring Brian Tyree Henry, Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali, and recent Stern Show guest Lily Tomlin, swings into theaters Dec. 14.
