VIDEO: Robert Pattinson Takes a Strange Trip Through Space in ‘High Life’ Trailer

Sci-fi film co-stars Juliette Binoche, Mia Goth, and Outkast's André 3000

2017 Stern Show guest Robert Pattinson stars as a space-traveling criminal on a dangerous mission to harness the power of a black hole in “High Life.”

Directed by French filmmaker Claire Denis (“Chocolat”), the sci-fi thriller’s official trailer (above) begins after the space mission has already taken flight and Robert and his fellow convicts turned astronauts are headed into the depths of space on a mission they’re unlikely to survive.

“We were scum, trash, refuse that didn’t fit into the system until someone had the bright idea of recycling us to serve science,” Pattinson explains over eerily scored, neon lit shots of him and his colleagues—including “Suspiria’s” Mia Goth and Outkast’s André Benjamin (a.k.a. André 3000)—sleeping, gardening, playing with a baby, and shambling through the spaceship’s sterile corridors. The film also stars Oscar-winning actress Juliette Binoche as Dr. Dibs, the ethically dubious scientist overseeing the project who apparently performs odd experiments on the prisoners during their long, arduous journey toward a black hole.

Robert made his Stern Show debut last year ahead of the release of his acclaimed indie thriller “Good Time.” While he and Howard didn’t discuss space travel or black holes, the two did enjoy a wide-ranging conversation which touched upon Robert’s love life, his mischievous years as a London schoolboy, and how he nearly got fired from his ultra-successful “Twilight” franchise.
