A major character suffers through a major scare in the official trailer for Season 5 of HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” Mike Judge’s hit comedy about five guys trying to find success with their tech start-up.

Richard (Thomas Middleditch), a college dropout who has become the C.E.O. of their company, Pied Piper, begins the new trailer (above) in a hospital bed as a doctor explains he’s just been in a coma for the last four years. After a lengthy beat, however, the doc tells him he was just kidding—though Richard has still lost a great deal of blood.

The hits keep coming after he’s released from the hospital as his company must figure out how to soar onward and upward after the departure of Erlich (T.J. Miller) at the end of Season 4. Some of Richard and Pied Piper’s new hurdles include a new office pet policy enabling dogs to pee on computers, a complicated discussion about ovaries, and the resurgence of their vicious industry rival Gavin Belson (Matt Ross). Between the official trailer and another recent teaser featuring everything from stress vomiting to drag racing, it looks like the guys will have their work cut out for them in Season 5.

“Silicon Valley” co-creator Mike Judge joined the Stern Show most recently in 2014, much to staffer Richard Christy’s delight. In addition to discussing “Silicon Valley,” Judge spoke to Howard about his previous iconic TV shows, including “Beavis and Butt-Head” and “King of the Hill.” He also played a few rounds of “King of the Hill” trivia with Richard, who was so elated he began to cry.

“Silicon Valley,” also starring Martin Starr, Kumail Nanjiani, and Zach Woods, returns to HBO for Season 5 on March 25 at 10 p.m. Watch the official trailer (above).
