VIDEO: Jason Bateman Contends With Deer Heads, Graveyards, and Human Skeletons in Ominous ‘Ozark’ Season 2 Teaser

Crime drama returns to Netflix on Aug. 31

June 21, 2018

Netflix has dropped a teaser and a Season 2 premiere date for its critically acclaimed crime drama “Ozark,” starring repeat Stern Show guest Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, an in-over-his-head money launderer who drags his family to the so-called “Redneck Riviera” in the hopes of escaping the wrath of the murderous drug kingpin who has been secretly employing him.

The Season 2 teaser (above) clocks in at less than a minute long, but there’s still plenty of information to be gleaned for fans. In addition to revealing an August debut date, the clip portends all sorts of dangerous drama for the Byrde family. A quick montage of ominous imagery suggests Marty, his wife Wendy (Laura Linney), and their two kids will be dealing with everything from severed deer heads and flaming boats to a newly exhumed human skeleton.

Bateman, who along with Linney earned a Screen Actors Guild nomination for his role on Season 1, also executive produces and sometimes directs episodes of the series. The entertainer last visited the Stern Show in 2014 and discussed his early days in Hollywood as well as his other Netflix series “Arrested Development,” which recently debuted a new season. “Ozark,” co-starring returning cast member Julia Garner (“The Americans”) and Season 2 newcomer Janet McTeer (“Jessica Jones”) returns to Netflix on Aug. 31. Watch the teaser (above).
