VIDEO: Brad Pitt Carries Leonardo DiCaprio’s Load Fighting Bruce Lee in First ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ Teaser

Sony Pictures has released the first teaser for “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” legendary director and repeat Stern Show guest Quentin Tarantino’s ninth and possibly penultimate film.
Set in 1969 Los Angeles, the upcoming comedy-drama features Leonardo DiCaprio as TV actor Rick Dalton and Brad Pitt as his longtime stunt double Clint Booth. While DiCaprio and Pitt’s characters are fictional, Tarantino’s genre-bending film also pulls pages from the history books with Margot Robbie (“Suicide Squad”) co-starring as real-life model, actress, and Manson Family murder victim Sharon Tate.
The clip barely hints at Tate’s tragic fate and in fact embraces a lighthearted tone throughout with jokes about carrying DiCaprio’s load, Robbie dancing around, and Pitt sparring on set with martial arts icon Bruce Lee (Mike Moh). The teaser does offer a glimpse of Damon Herriman as Charles Manson, however, as well as several Hollywood landmarks from the era, including Arclight’s Cinerama Dome, which Tarantino spoke about at length during his 2015 visit to the Stern Show.
“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” also features Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning, Timothy Olyphant, “Homeland’s” Damian Lewis, “Stranger Things” actress Maya Hawke, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Stern Show veteran Lena Dunham, and the late Luke Perry, among others.
It’s the ninth film directed by Tarantino, who said in previous interviews he may call it quits after directing his 10th picture. However, when visiting the Stern Show in 2012 ahead of the release of “Django Unchained,” Tarantino suggested those retirement plans might not be set in stone. “If I’m 67 and I can still make a movie and I come up with a cool story, maybe I’ll do it. But I don’t want to be an old man, film director, past his prime. I don’t want to be a director whose best work is behind him,” he told Howard. “I want my best work to be in front of me.”
“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” arrives July 26 in theaters.
