VIDEO: Chris Pratt Time Travels To Save the Planet in ‘The Tomorrow War’

Past Stern Show guest J.K. Simmons also stars in the July 2 release

One second actor Chris Pratt is Dan Forester, a schoolteacher with a military past – the next, he’s being called upon to save the planet from aliens 30 years into the future in the latest trailer for “The Tomorrow War.”

In the clip, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star is watching a soccer game on television with his wife (Betty Gilpin) and daughter before it is interrupted by an army from the year 2051. “We are fighting a war 30 years in the future,” one military leader (Jasmine Mathews) declares. “Our enemy is not human. We need you to fight.”

Taking the place of his spouse in the military draft despite deferment options as an educator and prior war veteran, Pratt’s character puts family first. “I’m trying to save my daughter,” he says in one scene. “If I’ve got to save the world to save her, I’m gonna do it.”

The film, which also stars past Stern Show guest J.K. Simmons as Pratt’s estranged father, will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video after last year’s theatrical release was nixed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Tomorrow War” debuts July 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
