Jason Sudeikis Coaches Synchronized Swimmers and Pat Smear Eats a Floater in Foo Fighters’ ‘Love Dies Young’ Music Video

Song hails from Dave Grohl-fronted rockers' latest album, “Medicine at Midnight”

Foo Fighters take a trip to the pool and hilarity ensues in the official music video for “Love Dies Young,” a song off the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ latest album “Medicine at Midnight.”

Dave Grohl and his bandmates play synchronized swimmers in the clip, which begins with them sitting with their backs to the camera in a locker room as their coach (played by “Saturday Night Live” veteran and “Ted Lasso” star Jason Sudeikis) gives them a bizarre pep talk before a competition.

“I’ve seen diarrhea with, like, more consistency!” he tells the team, apparently aware of what brown danger is yet to come.

As the band finally makes their way to the pool, it becomes apparent Foo Fighter faces have been digitally added to some swimmers’ bodies. The athletes perform for the judges, scoring a perfect 10 in the process, but everything goes to hell after a floater is discovered in the pool, leading the judges to vomit, Sudeikis’s character to sneak into the bathroom, and Grohl’s Foo Fighters and Nirvana bandmate Pat Smear to make a curious decision.

“Love Dies Young” is the fifth single off “Medicine at Midnight,” the Foo Fighters’ 10th studio album. The band spoke all about the LP to Howard in February during a visit to the Stern Show which also included a conversation about whether Sir Paul McCartney should induct them into the Rock Hall of Fame. Spoiler alert: He did. Check out more from their sit-down with Howard (below).

Foo Fighters “Medicine at Midnight” is out now.
