Gary Dell’Abate Hobnobbed in L.A. During Grammys Weekend … and Doesn’t Remember a Lot of It

“Were you there?” Howard wonders after his executive producer couldn’t recall several key moments

Stern Show executive producer Gary Dell’Abate had a bit of a stumble recently when he struggled to recall several details of his trip to Los Angeles for Grammys weekend. While Howard let it slide when Gary forgot songs performed by Public Enemy and Sammy Hagar at two different parties, he finally chimed in when his staffer failed to name the song Wolfgang Van Halen did at an event honoring Jon Bon Jovi.

“Were you there?” a baffled Howard wondered Tuesday morning. “What good is sending Gary to these events? He doesn’t even know what he saw.”

Gary tried to redeem himself by naming Bon Jovi songs performed by other artists that night, and eventually did reveal that Wolfgang covered “Have a Nice Day,” but the damage had already been done.

“Gary’s the best. He goes, ‘I’ll tell you, boss, it was incredible, a once in a lifetime night, but I don’t remember a thing about it,’” Howard teased.

“I got chocolate in my notes,” the Gary puppet chimed in before imagining a conversation with Bruce Springsteen. “Bruce, Bruce, I’m sorry about my breath.”

“You guys are genuine assholes,” Gary said with a laugh.
