VIDEO: Howard Is Shocked the Black Crowes, Phish, and Mariah Carey Weren’t Inducted Into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

“I might show up at the Hall of Fame like Dustin Hoffman in ‘The Graduate,’” King of All Media jokes

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 class of inductees: Soundgarden, OutKast, Cyndi Lauper, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, and the White Stripes. While Howard had voted for many of those acts and artists to receive the unrivaled distinction, he and co-host Robin Quivers were shocked to learn that Phish, Mariah Carey, and the Black Crowes did not make the cut.

The jam band Phish was one of the most peculiar omissions, considering the “Bouncing Around the Room” singers had failed to secure an induction despite winning the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s fan vote. “[The fan vote] does not move the needle,” Robin concluded.

Howard, meanwhile, was most distraught by the Black Crowes failing to get in. “They are so talented,” he said of the recent Stern Show guests, whose impressive catalogue includes hits like “Remedy,” “Hard to Handle” and “She Talks to Angels.” “That’s criminal,” he continued, jokingly adding: “I might show up at the Hall of Fame like Dustin Hoffman in ‘The Graduate,’ banging on the doors like ‘Let them in!’”
