Medicated Pete’s Mock Interview: ‘I’m 41 Years Old and I Don’t Know’

Wack Packer attempts to showcase his hirable skills

Questions were raised recently about Stern Show staffer JD Harmeyer’s ability to obtain a new job, if it ever became necessary, after he participated in a mock interview with an independent HR rep for a segment put together by Wolfie. On Monday, Howard played clips of Medicated Pete going through the same process and, amazingly, he managed to make JD seem coherent and poised by comparison … which is saying a lot.

Pete visited the studio to discuss his experience, telling Howard that he thought it went pretty well. But the tape said otherwise.

Hannah, the interviewer, began by asking Pete to tell her a little about himself, but the Wack Packer was immediately stumped. “What would you like to know?” he wondered.

After being prompted again to simply say whatever he would like, Pete proceeded to describe himself in primarily physical terms. “I’m 41 years old and I don’t know. I have red hair. I’m 5’6. The question was kind of broad,” he said with a fair degree of confusion.

Howard joked that he wasn’t sure if Pete was aware that the interviewer was not, in fact, blind.

Later in the interview, Hannah inquired about Pete’s salary requirements. This led him to begin negotiating … with himself.

“Maybe like $20,000 to like $50,000,” Pete began, before countering, “maybe even $10,000 … maybe $15,000.”

Attempting to move into a seemingly easier category of discussion, Hannah asked Pete: “If you were a musical instrument, what would you be and why?”

Little did she know, Pete was prepared to perform a full spittle-filled rendition of the drums in his head for her (below).

In a final question, Hannah wondered who Pete could see playing him if there was a movie made about his life.

“I would say Leonardo DiCaprio,” he answered with little hesitation. “He’s like a real gritty kind of guy, you know? It seems like he would get me.”

There you have it.

After the interview, Wolfie asked Pete to rate his performance on a scale of 1 to 10. Initially, Pete felt confident in scoring himself a 7.5, but after listening to the tape he adjusted his score and said he felt his performance was closer to a five. The interviewer, conversely, rated Pete at a three.
