Four of New York's finest superheroes are finally joining forces.
On Wednesday, Netflix dropped the first official trailer for "Marvel's The Defenders," a follow-up to its four comics-inspired standalone series about crime-fighting New Yorkers with special powers. Set to a slowed-down version of Nirvana's "Come As You Are," the trailer gives fans a first glimpse at Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) as they come together for the greater good.
The nearly two-and-a-half-minute trailer includes several eye-popping moments, from Danny Rand punching Luke Cage in the jaw with his Iron Fist to a tightly-choreographed hallway fight sequence (below) to the debut of apparent "Defenders" antagonist Alexandra, played by Sigourney Weaver.
Rosario Dawson, Jon Bernthal, and Elodie Yung also star in "The Defenders," which hits Netflix on Aug. 18.
