Warner Bros. whetted the appetites of science-fiction fans around the world on Friday by releasing the first teaser for “Blade Runner 2049.”
Ryan Gosling stars as Officer K in the long-anticipated follow-up to Ridley Scott’s 1982 classic “Blade Runner.” From the 15-second teaser, this one looks every bit as dark and dystopian as the Philip K. Dick-inspired original.
The only voice we hear comes from an unknown woman extolling the virtues of order. However, not everyone is buying what she’s selling, including perhaps Harrison Ford, who reprises his role as Rick Deckard and makes a brief but well-armed appearance in the teaser.
“Blade Runner 2049,” directed by Denis Villeneuve (“Arrival”) and co-starring Jared Leto, Robin Wright, and Dave Bautista, hits theaters Oct. 6. Warner Bros. plans to release a full trailer on Monday.
