VIDEO: ‘Arrested Development’ Drops Season 5 Trailer and Return Date
Stern Show veterans Jason Bateman and Will Arnett star on the Netflix comedy, returning on May 29
May 7, 2018The Bluths are back, and this time they’re up for an award.
On Monday, Netflix dropped the trailer and debut date for Season 5 of “Arrested Development,” an ensemble dysfunctional family comedy from creator Mitch Hurwitz and starring past Stern Show guests Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Will Arnett, and Ron Howard (as the narrator), among others.
Hitting the streaming service later this month, the much anticipated new collection of episodes revolves around the Bluth family reuniting to receive a prestigious Family of the Year award which they themselves invented. Other plot lines teased in the trailer (above) involve Buster’s (“Veep’s” Tony Hale) prosthetic hand, Tobias (David Cross) once again blue-ing himself, Lindsay (Portia de Rossi) running for office, and Michael’s (Bateman) apathy for his mother (Jessica Walter).
When Jason joined the Stern Show in 2014, he and Howard talked all about his role on “Arrested Development,” including the decision to cast his sister—actress Justine Bateman—on the series. Listen to a clip from the conversation (below).
“Arrested Development” Season 5, also starring Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat debuts May 29 on Netflix. Watch the official trailer (above).
