VIDEO: Matt Murdock Embraces Darkness in First ‘Daredevil’ Season 3 Teaser

Charlie Cox once again stars on Netflix’s acclaimed Marvel series

The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen has quit his day job.

Netflix released the first “Daredevil” Season 3 teaser showing Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a.k.a. Daredevil, in a church confessional as he clues his priest in on a pretty big career development: Matt’s done being a lawyer. He’s ready to become a full-time vigilante.

“I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law and in the light of day,” Cox’s character reveals (above). “But I was fooling myself. Darkness only responds to darkness and the truth is I’d rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock.”

And die as the devil he very nearly did. As fans of “Daredevil” and Marvel’s superhero team-up series “The Defenders” may remember, viewers last saw Daredevil recuperating in a mysterious, nun-filled hospital after the superhero sustained seemingly deadly injuries while saving New York City from the clutches of evil.

Netflix hasn’t revealed many Season 3 plot details beyond some casting news and a few cryptic tweets (above). Cox’s returning co-stars include Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Matt’s law partner Foggy Nelson, but it’s unclear if Season 2 standout and recent Stern Show guest Jon Bernthal will return since his character the Punisher now has his own show. New cast additions include Joanne Whalley (“Willow”) as Matt’s mother Maggie and Wilson Bethel (“Hart of Dixie”), who is rumored to play the iconic Marvel supervillain Bullseye.

“Daredevil” Season 3 is coming soon to Netflix. Watch the new teaser (above) and check out more of what’s coming to TV this fall here.
