VIDEO: Kevin Hart Gets Tested by Tiffany Haddish in ‘Night School’ Trailer

Back-to-school comedy co-stars Rob Riggle and Taran Killam

April 3, 2018

Tiffany Haddish teaches Kevin Hart a few valuable life lessons in the official trailer for “Night School,” hitting theaters in September.

The newly released trailer for the back-to-school comedy (above) begins with a montage showing Kevin’s character finding success as a smooth-talking salesman, but everything changes after his barbecuing business literally goes up in flames and he can’t find a new job because he doesn’t have a high school diploma.

So, the Stern Show veteran enlists in a G.E.D. program headed up by Haddish, who has been on fire as of late with her role in “Girls Trip,” a well-received “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig, and a starring role on “The Last O.G.” opposite frequent Stern Show guest Tracy Morgan.

Much of the trailer’s laughs come from Kevin’s various misfortunes, whether he’s dressed like a chicken and getting scolded by Tiffany’s teacher character or he’s flying through the air after an explosion and crash-landing on the hood of his fancy sports car. While the trailer’s car accident might seem outrageous, it’s nothing compared to what Kevin endured in real life when he crashed a boat at the age of just nine. The comedian recounted the tale during a 2017 Stern Show visit, explaining it was his dad who let him captain the vessel. “He let me drive a boat. Yeah, I crashed a boat,” Kevin told Howard with a laugh. “The level of stupidity that my dad displayed this day was amazing.” Check out a clip from the interview (below).

Directed by Malcolm D. Lee (“Girls Trip”), “Night School” co-stars actor-comedian Rob Riggle, “Saturday Night Live” veteran Taran Killam, and “40-Year-Old Virgin” star Romany Malco. The movie hits theaters Sept. 28.
