VIDEO: Rami Malek Has Moves Like Freddie Mercury in Official Trailer for Queen Biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Long-awaited rock drama hits theaters on Nov. 2

July 17, 2018

Rami Malek once again sings to us about the fine line between real life and fantasy in the official trailer for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” an upcoming Queen biopic from 20th Century Fox in which the “Mr. Robot” star portrays the band’s quirky yet widely celebrated frontman Freddie Mercury.

Whereas the first teaser for the Bryan Singer and Dexter Flecther-directed film focused heavily on the band’s songwriting process, this new promo features a potpourri of performance footage showing Malik’s Mercury singing and dancing on stage in front of thousands of screaming fans. It also hints at Queen’s meteoric rise to the top through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound as well as a few tragic turns in the band’s story, including their late singer’s eventual AIDS diagnosis.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” co-stars Ben Hardy, Gwilym Lee, and Joseph Mazzello as Mercury’s bandmates Roger Taylor, Brian May, and John Deacon, respectively. It also features Aidan Gillen (“Game of Thrones”), Lucy Boynton, and Mike Myers, who alongside Stern Show veteran Dana Carvey famously rocked out to “Bohemian Rhapsody” in their “Saturday Night Live”-inspired film “Wayne’s World.”

“Bohemian Rhapsody” opens Nov. 2. Watch the official trailer (above).
