The fight against fascism spans multiple universes in the Season 4 trailer for “The Man in the High Castle,” a Philip K. Dick-inspired sci-fi drama about an alternate reality where the Allied Powers lost World War II.

As the final season of Amazon’s critically acclaimed series begins, the Japanese Empire and Nazi Germany still rule the United States with an iron fist. But the Resistance is on the verge of becoming a full-blown rebellion—thanks in part to visions of a better world. The clip shows Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos) learning more about alternate universes, including ones where democracy emerged victorious in WWII.

“If the Nazis can’t be beaten in that world, they can be beaten in this one,” her character exclaims (above) over a montage of gunfire, explosions, and disturbing imagery of American landmarks emblazoned with Nazi iconography.

Of course, the Third Reich has no intention of going gently into that good night. They’ve built a trans-dimensional portal of their own which might enable their evil empire to lay claim to other universes. While Reichsmarschall John Smith (Rufus Sewell) is drawn toward the portal, Japan’s Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido (Joel De La Fuente) is quick to remind him how impotent they really are in the grand scheme of things.

“These two empires that we fight for, they’re little more than sandcastles. Only the tides are forever,” Kido says.

“The Man in the High Castle” Season 4 debuts Nov. 15 on Amazon Prime Video.
