Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion Release Risqué, Sex-Positive ‘WAP’ Music Video

Rappers’ provocative new clip features tigers, snakes, and a scantily clad Kylie Jenner

August 7, 2020

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have finally collaborated on a song and music video and, if fan reactions are any indication, it was well worth the wait.

The rappers dropped their steamy new single “WAP” on Thursday night along with a colorful music video bringing the track’s provocative lyrics to life. The Colin Tilley-directed clip features tigers, snakes, and more curves than one of Ronnie “the Limo Driver” Mund’s race tracks as well as cameos from Fifth Harmony’s Normani, Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía, and reality star Kylie Jenner.

Less than 12 hours after its release, “WAP’s” chart-topping video had been viewed over 8 million times on YouTube. Cardi told fans she was touched by the support. “All I can say is motherfuckin’ thank you. All the love means so much,” she tweeted, shortly before encouraging everyone to also check out the uncensored version of her and Megan’s team up track.

Like most artists, Cardi hasn’t been able to tour since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. The 27-year-old Bronx native has still kept busy, however, with not just her new song and music video but also everything from virtual music festivals to sitting with Senator Bernie Sanders for a COVID-19 discussion. Even before the “WAP’s” arrival, Cardi was never shy about expressing or discussing her sexuality. During her Stern Show debut in 2018, she spoke candidly with Howard about everything from her romantic relationships to working at a strip club. Watch a clip from the interview (below).
