Beck Becomes Paul McCartney in New Music Video for Beatles Legend’s ‘Find My Way’

Track is part of Macca’s remix album “McCartney III Imagined”

July 23, 2021

Repeat Stern Show guest Paul McCartney flashes back to his Fab Four days in the video for his new single “Find My Way”—except it’s not the iconic Beatle at all. Thanks to deepfake technology and a “Scooby Doo”-style reveal at the end, we come to find out it was rocker and fellow Stern Show guest Beck playing a younger Paul the whole time.

Directed by Andrew Donoho and co-produced by Hyperreal Digital, a company that focuses on digital avatars and de-aging its subjects, the clip shows Beck’s suit-clad McCartney dancing through a hotel hallway in what amounts to a trippy visual experience before unmasking himself at the end.

The track is part of “McCartney III Imagined,” a remix album featuring a diverse lineup of guests including St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, and Idris Elba. When Sir Paul was on the Stern Show last December, he elaborated on how the original iteration of “McCartney III” came to be. Check out that discussion (below).

McCartney III Imagined” is out on July 23 on vinyl and available for streaming.
