The Ghostface killer has returned to torment Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette once again in the official trailer for the fifth “Scream” movie, arriving in January.

Set 25 years after the brutal and bloody events of the franchise’s first film, the upcoming installment follows a brand-new group of teenagers with mysterious ties to the original “Scream” villains as they themselves are hunted by a killer. While trying to stay alive the imperiled kids eventually get some help from murder-spree veterans Sidney Prescott (Campbell), reporter Gale Weathers (Cox), and one-time sheriff Dewey Riley (Arquette), who’ve foiled quite a few killers of their own in their day and already know all the rules of the game.

“You ready?” Campbell asks Cox (above).

“For this? Never,” Cox responds.

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, “Scream” features Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar in addition to Arquette, Campbell, and Cox, the last of whom recently stopped by the Stern Show with an altogether different group of “Friends.”

“Scream” opens Jan. 14.
