VIDEO: Beavis and Butt-Head Go to Space in Official Trailer for Animated Sequel
Mike Judge-directed “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe” debuts June 23 on Paramount+
June 6, 2022Two of the 1990s most beloved dimwits are making another movie. Paramount recently dropped the trailer for “Beavis and Butt-head Do the Universe,” a spinoff of Mike Judge’s popular animated adult series “Beavis and Butt-Head,” and the long-awaited sequel to the titular twosome’s 1996 film, “Beavis and Butt-head Do America.”
Billed as “perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made,” “Do the Universe” follows the deranged, heavy metal-loving duo as they get embroiled in a fresh round of space-set shenanigans. The story begins in the 1990s when Beavis and Butt-head are sent to Space Camp where they soon blast off in a space shuttle, travel through a black hole, and get transported through time to the 2020s.
Judge, who stopped by the Stern Show as recently as 2014, has big plans for Butt-head and Beavis beyond the new film. There is also a reportedly a reboot series set to premiere in 2024.
Judge has notably visited the Stern Show multiple times over the years. In 1996, the filmmaker and animator who’d soon go on to make “King of the Hill” and “Office Space” told Howard he retained no ownership over “Beavis and Butt-head,” despite having created the cartoon.
