VIDEO: Samuel L. Jackson Fights Shape-Shifting Aliens in Marvel’s ‘Secret Invasion’ Trailer
Olivia Coleman, Ben Mendelsohn, and Emilia Clarke co-star on the upcoming Disney+ series
September 14, 2022Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Avengers founder and super spy Nick Fury in the official trailer for Marvel’s “Secret Invasion,” debuting next year on Disney+.
The six-episode miniseries follows Fury as he returns from a mission in space to find the Earth is under threat of invasion from a power-hungry faction of shapeshifting aliens led by the villain Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir).
“This is my war, alone, and I’m the last person standing between them and what they really want,” Jackson’s character insists at one point in the explosive trailer (above).
Created by Kyle Bradstreet (“Mr. Robot”), the show also stars Marvel Cinematic Universe veterans Cobie Smulders, Ben Mendelsohn, and Don Cheadle as well as a talented cast of newcomers including Oscar winner Olivia Colman, “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke, Martin Freeman, Carmen Ejogo, and Dermot Mulroney.
Stern Show fans will remember Samuel L. Jackson revealing in 2016 how he came to play a different iconic space traveler: “Star Wars” jedi Mace Windu. As Jackson told Howard, he’d asked “Star Wars” visionary George Lucas for a role – any role – in the prequel films. “Put me in one of those white suits … I’ll be a storm trooper, nobody needs to know,” he recalled with a laugh. Check out a clip from Jackson’s conversation with Howard (below).
