Ronnie Mund Overcame Birthday Blues to Celebrate With Actress Pia Zadora

“Even though I hate my f-cking birthday, it was nice,” Stern Show staffer tells Howard

Ronnie Mund isn’t getting any younger — but don’t remind him. On Monday, the Stern Show staffer opened up about recently turning 73 years old. “I don’t like birthdays anymore, man,” Ronnie, who scolded Richard Christy just for giving him a birthday greeting, admitted to Howard.

Having spent a relatively low-key weekend watching friend and NHRA driver Ron Capps compete at a nearby racetrack and going out to eat with friends, one highlight was hanging out with Golden Globe winner Pia Zadora at a local Italian restaurant. “She looks really good, I gotta say,” Ronnie, who said he spoke with the singer and actress about “general shit” for 10 minutes, remarked. “[She was wearing] like a nice little short dress and everything, her hair was done nice, makeup — she really looked good … Even though I hate my fucking birthday, it was nice.”

Despite spending time with the actress and with friends, Ronnie has not changed his attitude about birthdays — a sentiment shared by his therapist. “I was talking to my shrink the other day and he goes, ‘… I’m a year older than you — this is bad,’” the retired limo driver recalled.

“That’s some shrink,” Howard responded with a laugh before attempting to comfort his former head of security. “A lot of people are saying 73 is the new 69.”
