New Smart Condom Measures Sexual Performance, Warns of STIs

In recent decades, advancements in science and engineering have brought the world technology at the tip of its fingers, but now a new U.K. company is putting that tech at the tip of something else.
The i.Con is a newly-unveiled smart condom which uses nano-chip technology to give users more sexual performance and health data than they ever realized they needed. It retails for about $74 and is currently available for pre-order.
The performance analytics can tell users the average velocity of their thrusts, how many positions they’ve tried over the course of a week, and even how they measure up against other i.Con users around the world.
On the health side of things, the i.Con reportedly does everything from calculating calories burned during a quickie to recording average skin temperature. According to the website British Condoms, the i.Con also warns of sexually transmitted infections, thanks to its “antibodies filter” which alerts users when STI-like proteins or antigens are detected.
The i.Con comes only in a single size but includes a “band adjustment feature” which may help with penile outliers. It’s made from synthetic rubber and the sensors and nano-chip are encased in a waterproof carbon fiber unit, according to Mashable. The i.Con is rechargeable via Micro-USB, though it’s battery reportedly lasts for six to eight hours. If erections are lasting longer than that, it might be time to consult a doctor.
