There’s probably not another “Crocodile Dundee” sequel on the horizon, but that hasn’t stopped a slew of A-list Aussie actors from appearing in a Tourism Australia advertising campaign designed to look like trailers for a franchise reboot called “Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home.”

In the fake film’s cast intro trailer (above), Danny McBride stars as the aloof American son of the Paul Hogan’s infamous knife-wielding bushman, Mick “Crocodile” Dundee. Audiences also get their best looks yet at some of the faux film’s ancillary characters, including one played by New Zealand native Russell Crowe and two played by Australians Margot Robbie and Stern Show veteran Hugh Jackman.

Margot’s character probably most closely resembles Mick Dundee from the 1986 original, as most of her screen time is spent demanding beer and beating guys up in a bar. So, it’s perhaps fitting the “I, Tonya” and “Suicide Squad” starlet recently shared a picture from the set of the “Dundee” shoot in which she’s standing with Hogan himself:

Crowe, meanwhile, plays a ruthless media mogul and Jackman plays the Prime Minister. Other Hollywood stars paying homage to their roots Down Under include Isla Fisher (“Wedding Crashers”), Ruby Rose (“John Wick: Chapter 2”), Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”), and his younger brother Liam (“The Hunger Games”).

According to a Brisbane Times report, Tourism Australia will air more of these fake film ads during this weekend’s Super Bowl.
