Clip from Thursday’s episode also hints at Bruce Wayne’s ascension toward Batman

Recent Stern Show guest Cory Michael Smith is having a good time being bad in the trailer for the Season 4 finale of “Gotham,” airing Thursday on Fox.

The Batman prequel’s newly published clip (above) teases the eventual evolution of young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) into the Dark Knight himself and also portends a perilous fate for Gotham City Police Department’s most steadfast detective, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), who is scouring the city for hidden bombs.

Various villains appear in the teaser, too, including Stern Show veteran Robin Lord Taylor, whose Penguin is itching to kill someone. Cory’s Riddler, meanwhile, looks like he just might murder one of Gotham’s finest after trapping Gordon in a human vice and threatening to squeeze him flat with the push of a button.

“Now this is gonna be so much fun,” Cory tells him in the teaser.

When Cory joined the Stern Show earlier in May, the actor spoke all about his TV portrayal of the iconic DC Comics villain, which he revealed draws largely from someone he went to high school with. He also told Howard that, despite being a huge fan of fellow Stern Show guest Jim Carrey, he has never actually seen the 1995 film “Batman Forever,” in which Jim starred as The Riddler.

Listen to a clip from the discussion (below) and check out Howard’s full interview with Cory here.

“Gotham’s” Season 4 finale airs Thursday at 8 p.m. on Fox. Watch the teaser (above).
