VIDEO: Jamie Foxx Teaches Taron Egerton to Shoot Straight in ‘Robin Hood’ Teaser

Arrow-filled action flick, co-starring Ben Mendelsohn and Eve Hewson, opens Nov. 21

Taron Egerton has gone back to basics in the debut trailer for his upcoming “Robin Hood” reimagining (above). The action star, who has previously flaunted high-tech weaponry and finely tailored suits in two “Kingsman” films, must now protect Sherwood Forest with nothing but a bow, some arrows, and a hoodie.

In this version of the fabled story, Egerton’s Robin Hood is mentored by Oscar-winning actor and repeat Stern Show guest Jamie Foxx, who plays Little John. Not only does Jamie teach Taron to swing a sword, sneak around in the shadows, and shoot all manner of trick-arrow shots, he also shows him how to steal from the one percent and redistribute it to the poor.

“You were a crusader. Now you have to be a warrior,” Foxx’s Little John says (above). “You wanted to steal. Now’s your time.”

Directed by Otto Bathurst (“Peaky Blinders”), the film also stars Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlet, Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck, and Ben Mendelsohn as the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham.

“Robin Hood” opens Nov. 21. Watch the teaser (above).
