VIDEO: Hilary Swank Hunts Ike Barinholtz and ‘Glow’s’ Betty Gilpin in ‘The Hunt’
Blood-soaked thriller hits theaters Sept. 27
July 31, 2019Twelve strangers wake up in a strange place and quickly learn they’re being hunted by the ultra-wealthy in “The Hunt,” a bloody thriller headed to theaters in September.
“Glow” actress Betty Gilpin is the film’s protagonist, but, as the trailer quickly shows, her character is anything but a damsel in distress. “I ain’t most people,” she tells two disguised “hunters” before flipping the tables on them and delivering a world of hurt.
She’s flanked by a cadre of seemingly less competent companions, including Emma Roberts, Ethan Suplee, Justin Hartley, and Stern Show celebrity superfan Ike Barinholtz, who is seen at various points in the trailer wielding dual handguns and a ball gag. If the group has any chance at making it out alive, they’ll have to band together and take down the mysterious woman in charge played by two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank.
Directed by Craig Zobel, “The Hunt” is written by Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse of “The Leftovers” and produced by Blumhouse, the company behind the action-heavy “Purge” films.
“The Hunt” opens Sept. 27 in theaters.
